Hi friends!
June is here, and quoting one of my new neighbors, “the mountain laurels are extravagant this year!” I love this time of late spring when there are a good number of rainy days that contrast with the rainbow hues of blooming flora. And speaking of rainbows…Happy Pride Month, and a reminder that yoga is for everyone!
Just this morning, I had the pleasure of teaching my first class in our neighborhood’s clubhouse. What a gift it was to meet so many new friends and share a practice. Yoga is a sanskrit word that means union, and I’ll admit that I have met many dear friends in a yoga studio. There is something magical about the collective energy in a room full of yogis who are breathing, moving, sweating,and sometimes laughing together. Yoga is a safe space where it doesn’t matter if you are in sync with your neighbor or not. You can decide to take a child's pose at any time, and no one in the room is better at yoga than you are because you cannot be good or bad at yoga! Good JuJu Yoga Retreats welcomes all yoga students to join our retreats, regardless of experience level, age, weight, race, religion or sexual identity. Just as I believe my life has been greatly improved by my diverse community of friends, a yoga retreat is enhanced by a diverse group of students. And speaking of retreats… Due to a cancellation, we now have 2 available spots in the June 27 - July 2 retreat to the Baja peninsula of Mexico.
